It has been a while since I have posted a true crime Q&A article and I thought now was as good a time as any especially as I have been ill this past week with sinusitis and have not been able to really sit down, focus and research on my next true crime case.
I asked some of my lovely readers on Ko-fi and Patreon if they would like any questions included in my post and I have done my best to add them here. I hope you enjoy my post and stay tuned as next Sunday I will be posting my latest true crime case.
Before I get into the questions, don't forget you can find all of my social media links and content here and if you would like to donate to my blog, you can do so here, thank you.
So here goes....
Q1: If you could interview any murderer, who would that be?
I would be interested to interview the likes of Myra Hindley, Aileen Wuornos and Rose West, simply because I have done a lot of research on them and I would be interested to see how they would try and manipulate me with their version of events in relation to their crimes. I would be interested to hear about their childhoods as I know each of these women came from quite traumatic backgrounds but rather than read about it, it would be interesting to hear their experiences from their own mouths. Myra and Aileen are deceased but Rose is still alive. With Rose West, she has always stayed silent so it would be interesting to see and hear how she would present herself.
Q2: Have you had any nightmares about any of the true crime cases you have covered?
I haven't had any nightmares because I am able to switch my mind on to other things once I publish an article. Some of the details I have to cover and research are quite harrowing and I do feel a lot of sorrow and sympathy for the victims and their families. Some cases affect me and stay with me for a while but I try to pay tribute to the victims by sharing their stories and ensuring to help that their cases are not forgotten. Two cases that come to mind is Judith Barsi and Kriss Donald which still stay with me to this day but my heart goes out to all of the victims I have written about.
Q3: When are you going to publish your own true crime books?
Oh I am working on that. This is my dream, my goal so stay tuned!!
Q4: Are you reading any true crime books right now? If so, which one(s)?
I have a stack of true crime books by Christopher Berry-Dee which I'm yet to get through. As I have been so busy and not well with sinusitis these past couple of weeks I've not really been reading much. When I do I will be getting stuck into one of the CBD books for sure.
Q5: Which case that you've covered do you get asked about the most?
I get a lot of questions about the Tracie Andrews and Mitchell Quy cases.
Q6: Have you ever met a murderer in real life?
This is an old post but one that some people may find interesting about an experience I had: Meeting A Murderer
Q7: Is there a criminal that you never suspected?
This will probably sound ridiculous to anyone reading this now and as an adult looking back I would agree but as a child I never suspected Jimmy Savile, Gary Glitter, Bill Cosby and Rolf Harris to have been the monsters that they turned out to be behind closed doors. In my defence, these guys were popular back in the day and would appear on numerous children's TV shows so they were seen as quite eccentric and harmless guys who did a lot for charity. Obviously we know the stories of these people now and when the truth came out, some people were shocked and others said ''I told you so''.
Q8: If you could study the brain of a criminal, who would that be?
It would be interesting to study quite a few as they all carry out their crimes in different ways and motives vary but if I had to pick one it would be Dennis Rader (otherwise known as BTK). Like a lot of serial killers, Dennis was both a monster and a family man/pillar of the community.
Q9: Is there a serial killer who has not been portrayed in a a movie that would make a fantastic project to be made?
I think it would be interesting to see a movie made about British serial killer Joanna Dennehy especially if it focused on her life before her crimes, during and after.
Q10: If you could meet any other true crime writer or collaborate on a book with who would it be?
It would have been amazing to have met and worked with the late, great Reg McKay. I've always been interested in criminology but his books inspired me to become a writer myself. It's heartbreaking to know that he is no longer with us because his books are spectacular, you just can't put them down. I am lucky enough to own a signed copy of one of his books. I wish more people knew about him, hopefully me talking about him will inspire someone to check out his books.
And there you have it, I hope you found my Q&A post interesting and hope that you will join me here next Sunday for my latest true crime case. For more of my content and where to find me, click here
Thanks as always, stay safe and I'll see you in the next post x
This was an incredible Q&A!
ReplyDeleteI loved how you brought up stars like Gary Glitter and Bill Cosby because you're right during the height of their careers you never would of suspected anything at all. I remember watching Cosby as a kid doing the Fat Albert show and everyone always had that opinion of him being a wholesome family kind of guy.
I would love to see you do an interview with Rose West! That would be absolutely epic!
I could comment more but I feel like I've already written a novel on an amazing Q&A post! This really is awesome! Glad you're feeling better now though! ❤❤❤
Thank you so much for reading and commenting. It's crazy as well to think that Bill Cosby has recently been let out of prison but I haven't been following the details on that case. Rose West is such a manipulative character but it would e a ratings winner or a best selling book if I ever did get to interview her. Thank you as always for your amazing support x x x x
DeleteI post my reply by mistake on your "Meeting A Murderer Post" when I was revisiting the article. I properly change it. I absolutely love this ! You must to that more often. It was so interesting ! I've been learning a lot of interesting facts about your own opinion from these questions. Fantastic Jo, thank you so much again for your incredible and amazing work. I would love to see a movie about Joanna Dennehy. Thanks again Jo for your tremendous content.
ReplyDeleteThank you, well I have more questions so a part two will be coming up in future, thank you for checking out this post and re-visiting my other one x x x x

Absolutely amazing work Jo thank you so much for sharing this content this was so incredible and so absolutely fabulous and amazing work you are so talented and so gifted and I love reading your work because it motivates me to read more and more of your beautiful work thanks again for this amazing content ❤️😍❤️😍❤️
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! x x x x
DeleteSo, I took a detour and read your account of your encounter with Mark. It is fascinating and utterly chilling. It reminded me of a similar incident I had with a member of my team at a previous workplace, and it was very therapeutic to read that you had a lot of the same sensations and inner turmoil as I had.
ReplyDeleteI thank you for sharing your experience and look forward to more. The most important aspect of your story is that what happened to you was uniquely terrible in many ways, and I can’t imagine that the idolatry your class were showing Mark was much comfort either.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read, comment and share on Twitter, I really appreciated that. It is strange how some people respond to individuals who commit murder almost as if they are some sort of celebrities. Hope you have a great week x
