True Crime Documentaries & Movies That You Need To Binge Watch Now!!!

There's nothing I enjoy more than getting into a really interesting true crime documentary or movie. Even a good Netflix series that is based on real crime cases works a treat, I get lost in them for hours and I'm sure you do too, especially when it comes to the likes of Mindhunter (I am still trying to come to terms with the fact that there may never be a series 3 but they do still keep teasing us with possibilities, I never give up hope!).

So as Netflix can be a bit hit or miss when it comes to this subject I thought I would share with you my recommendations since I am always asked for them. I'm currently working on a big post which isn't quite finished yet but will be posted next week so in the meantime, get your snacks, your drinks, turn the lights down low, put your feet up and work your way down my list for the perfect evening for any true crime enthusiast!

*The following 8 shows can be found on Netflix.

- American Murder: The Family Next Door (The Chris Watts Case)
- Night Stalker: The Hunt For A Serial Killer (The Richard Ramirez Case)
- The Sons of Sam: A Descent Into Darkness (David Berkowitz)
- Crime Scene: The Vanishing At The Cecil Hotel (The Elisa Lam Case)
- Crime Scene: The Times Square Killer (Richard Cottingham)
- Lost Girls (Based on the real life case of Shannan Gilbert)
- Interview With A Serial Killer (Arthur Shawcross)

And if you haven't checked out Mindhunter series one and two, what are you waiting for? You'll be addicted!

It's not on Netflix but a movie based on a real case (John Wayne Gacy) which I ALWAYS recommend is To Catch A Killer, it's available to watch for free on YouTube.

If you looking for a sinister movie with a chilling edge to it, check out the movie Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer. said to be one of the most disturbing and chilling movies ever made it is based on serial killer Henry Lee Lucas and Ottis Toole. The performances in this movie are phenomenal and so disturbing that you actually forget that you're watching film and become lost in the disturbing story and scenes. I won't say any more but it you manage to make it through to the end you're in for another shocker and it's a movie you will never forget.

Well, there you have it, a short and sweet post for this week but I will be posting my latest true crime case as usual next Sunday.

Come say hi on my Socials

Stay safe & I hope you'll join me in my next post x

  4. The Sons of Sam and Cecil Hotel/Elisa Lam documentaries were great viewing. Mindhunter is a great series! Have you watched "The Murder of Laci Petersen" (2017) on Amazon Prime? I found it fascinating and had mixed feelings. I'm prepared to accept that very possibly the husband is guilty but also feel there's no real evidence and people were guided by media frenzy and emotions. It seems there were a few other leads the police failed to adequately look into.
