Beyond Comprehension: The Gruesome Story of Douglas Clark & Carol Bundy: The Sunset Strip Slayers | Killer Couples

This is one of those cases where people are often divided in their opinion on who was the more dominant killer and who was the one who was dragged along for the ride out of fear. I have to say that I've done a lot of research into Carol Bundy (no relation to Ted Bundy) and Douglas Clark and watched the numerous documentaries about them, even the ones who take a more sympathetic view to Carol and I'm still convinced that both of them were just as evil, sick and twisted as the other.

From the get-go, I was getting serious Rose West vibes from Carol. Not only did they look similar, claim to be victims of their partners who were led astray but you find as the story goes on and the evidence is presented, Carol was quite the monster just like Rose West was, don't let the frilly blouses and the granny glasses fool you. These women were very much involved in what their partners were doing and in some cases they tortured, mutilated and murdered their innocent victims on there own.

To this day, some people can't seem to grasp the fact that some women can be truly evil and very frightening, I have covered quite a few cases here on my blog of women who have done horrendous things. In this post I'm taking a look at the story of Douglas Clark and Carol Bundy, otherwise known as The Sunset Strip Slayers.

I have to warn you that this post will feature some disturbing material so please keep that in mind.

So let's begin...

I'll start first by talking about Douglas Daniel Clark who was born on the 10th of March 1948 in Pennsylvania in the US. He's not one to talk about his childhood but from what we do know, he had quite a privileged upbringing and had actually lived in 37 countries before settling in Southern California. His father was a retired Navy Commander and Douglas (who preferred to be called Doug) even spent some time at boarding school.

During his younger days he was popular with girls and was never short of a date. The girls were attracted to the fact that he was a clean-cut American boy from a comfortable background who could speak French. As he grew up, he became a bit big for his boots where his ego was concerned and his attitude towards women was appalling. He called himself 'The King of The One Night Stands' and would show off to his friends by playing audio tapes of sex sessions he had with various women.

Through the ladies man image and the fancy French talk lay a dark secret underneath that he had been hiding. Douglas had an obsession with rape fantasies and would dream about sexual intercourse with the deceased. He kept this secret to himself for years but began feeling restless and frustrated and eager to bring these fantasies to life.

Douglas was a typical narcissist who seemed to believe that he was God's gift to women. A lot of people who have met him or known him have often spoken of his cold, dead eyes. Personally speaking, some of his pictures remind me of Kane from Poltergeist, don't ask me why, I just get that vibe from him. He thought he was clever when it came to women though and would often target middle aged, insecure housewife types who he would charm and live off of.

He was like a sugarbaby, living off these lonely women for money and then when their backs were turned, he'd sneak out at night and meet up with young women for sex.

In 1979, Carol Mary Bundy was at the end of her rope where her abusive husband was concerned. She'd had enough of living in fear and finally took her two children and left him. Carol hadn't had an easy road in life up to that point, she was born on the 26th of August 1942 and to say her childhood was horrendous is an understatement.

Both of her parents were alcoholics and she suffered emotional and physical abuse by the pair of them. When her mother passed away from a heart attack when she was just 11 years old, her father demanded that she now take care of the house and sleep in bed with him. She was subjected to sexual abuse on a regular basis.

As she got older, Carol went from being a cute little girl to someone who looked twice their age and she just stopped caring about her appearance which is a common occurrence in victims of sexual abuse.

Her father began a relationship and remarried so he wanted Carol out of the house. She was pushed around foster home to foster home.

So Carol was no stranger to abusive men but in 1979 she'd had enough and ended up renting an apartment from a man named John 'Jack' Murray (I'll be calling him Jack throughout this post as that was the name he preferred to be called & what his friends and family had known him as). Jack seemed like such a nice guy but a bit of a charmer, he had an air of old school Tom Jones about him and he actually was a singer. Sometimes he'd sing at a bar in LA called Little Nashville. Like a lot of people in LA, Jack (who was originally from Australia) had dreams of stardom but his career wasn't going quite as well as he hoped.

Feeling lonely and vulnerable and having Jack be such a gentleman towards her, it was no surprise that Carol took a shine to him. He'd been so nice to her and her two sons, helping them move in, making sure everything was ok.

Instead of admiring Jack from afar (he was married with two children himself), Carol became obsessed and went to great lengths to get his attention, even clogging the toilet in her apartment just so she had an excuse to invite him over.

Eventually Carol got what she wanted and one thing led to another and they had a full blown affair. She did enjoy his attention and he even helped her sort out her glasses, got her a proper eye test as she had been having eye trouble for quite some time. He helped her get registered blind which enabled her to receive welfare every month.

Carol did have eyesight problems but she wasn't fully blind. I think they must have played that up a bit to the Doctors in order to get the welfare.

Having Jack around was great for sex and for support, Carol decided that the affair wasn't enough, she wanted him all to herself completely. She came up with the ridiculous idea of approaching Jack's wife with $1500 in an attempt to pay her to leave Jack. Of course this was a complete disaster and resulted in Carol and Jack having an argument and Carol being told that she'd have to find somewhere else to live.

So again she felt rejected, not wanted, not good enough and went to the Little Nashville bar to drown her sorrows and it was there that she met Douglas Clark. Carol was just what Douglas was looking for, a lonely, vulnerable woman, another one who would give him money and take care of him. That night they went home together and were inseparable.

Carol moved her obsession from Jack on to Douglas and was determined to make him happy in any way possible. The pair developed a bond really fast and Douglas felt that he could share his sick fantasies with her. Any woman in their right mind would have run a mile if someone said the things that he was saying but surprisingly, Carol was on board for everything.

In the Summer of 1980 things took a sickening turn in their relationship, Douglas wanted to act out his fantasies for real and Carol was eager to play along with this, even when he brought young women back to the house for sex she would take pictures and was turned on by what was taking place. On one occasion, Douglas brought an 11 year old child to the house that he'd abducted from a local park, instead of getting the child to safety and calling the police, Carol proceeded to take photographs whilst Douglas abused the girl.

On the 11th of June 1980, two young girls who were half sisters, Gina Narano (15) and Cynthia Chandler (16) went missing after arranging to meet some friends at Huntington Beach. The girls bodies were found the next day next to a freeway. Both of the girls had been shot in the head. Douglas had apparently abducted the girls and forced them into his car where he drove them to a location and forced them to carry out sex acts on him before shooting them in the head. The monster then took the girl's bodies back to his garage where he molested their corpses and put them in poses whilst he took photographs before dumping them next to the freeway. He seemed to have enjoyed telling Carol these details as she later claimed.

Carol began seeing Jack again in secret at the Little Nashville bar, they'd go to his van and have sex before she returned to Douglas. Douglas hated Jack with a passion and saw him as a rival for Carol's attention.

On the 24th of June, the body of a 24 year old working girl by the name of Karen Jones was found behind a Burbank steakhouse she had also died of a gunshot wound. The very same morning that Karen was found, the police found another female's body, this time the location was Studio City and even more gruesome was the fact that she'd been decapitated.

Investigators couldn't find the head but were able to identify the remains as being that of a 20 year old working girl, Exxie Wilson.

The details of what happened to Exxie are horrific. Douglas had her head in the refrigerator and when Carol's sons had gone to visit a relative, he thought he would surprise Carol by putting it on the kitchen table. They both thought this was funny and Carol started to play with the head, putting makeup on it. She later said ''We had fun with her. I was making her up like a Barbie doll''

And just when you thought that it couldn't get any worse, Douglas took Exxie's decapitated head into the shower in the bathroom with him where he performed sex acts on it. The head was kept in the fridge and the pair would take it out and do various things with it before Douglas put it in a box and dumped it in a Hollywood alley where it was discovered on the 27th of June.

Another unidentified female body was found on the 25th of July on Sunset Boulevard. She had also died from a gunshot wound to the head. Two weeks after this discovery, an unidentified female body was found by snake hunters in the Fern Wood area near Malibu. She had been shot in the head.

Carol was at the Little Nashville bar drinking and having a secret meeting with Jack. She'd had a bit too much to drink and started spilling the details of what she and Douglas had been up to. Jack threatened to report Douglas to the police, this suddenly sobered Carol up and she realised that she'd let the cat out of the bag. She managed to smooth things over with Jack and lured him out to the van for one of their usual sex sessions.

Jack got more than he bargained for because Carol attacked him, stabbing him and slashing him. When Jack stopped breathing, she decapitated him and took his head home in a bag to show Douglas.

She walked into the house and said ''I've brought Jack home with me'' to which Douglas was confused but when she pulled his head out and placed it on the table, the sick pair burst out laughing. Jack's head was later thrown out of a car window by Carol.

When Jack's remains were found a few days later in his van, Carol panicked. She realised that she was the last person to have seen Jack alive, there were witnesses. At work she had a breakdown and ended up telling her shocked colleagues what Douglas (not her) had been up to. She painted herself as a victim.

Someone at her work called the police and Carol's house was searched, the police found items that belonged to the victims as well as photographs, the pair were arrested and proceeded to blame each other for the crimes.

They were both charged with murder and the cases went to trial. Douglas was found guilty on the 28th of January 1983 of 6 counts of first degree murder with 'special circumstances' plus one count each of attempted murder, mayhem and mutilating human remains. He was given the death penalty and is currently 73 years old and is yet to have met his executioner.

Carol had her own trial for the murder of Jack and an unidentified young woman. She struck up a plea deal which meant she wouldn't get the death penalty. She was found guilty and got 27 years to life on one count and 25 years to life on the other.

On the 9th of December 2003, Carol Mary Bundy passed away from heart failure.

RIP to the victims and my heart goes out to their families.

As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, those that know this case well have a difference of opinion, some think the murders were all carried out by Douglas, some think it was both, some think it was all Carol and that Douglas was the poor guy who she set up to take the fall.

The Beauty Queen Killer: Christopher Bernard Wilder | Serial Killer

Here is a real-life monster who most refer to as The Beauty Queen Killer, Christopher Bernard Wilder went on a rampage in the 1980s across America leaving a trail of victims behind him. He was obsessed with beautiful young women and would approach his victims posing as a photographer with promises of securing a modeling contract for them.

Once he had hold of the girls, they were subjected to a horrendous ordeal of torture and sexual assault before being brutally murdered, their bodies dumped and in many cases, never found.

But, did Christopher really start killing in the 1980s? Some believe he started as far back as the 1960s. In my 75th true crime post, I'm going to be looking into The Beauty Queen Killer and some of the details that I will be sharing will be quite disturbing so please take that into consideration before reading any further.

So who was Christopher Wilder and how many lives was he responsible for taking? Well, the number varies depending on who you talk to but it is estimated that he murdered between 8-18 women. As with a lot of serial killer cases, there are those victims that we know about, and those that we don't and in the case of Christopher Wilder, there are many many more murders that he is suspected to have been responsible for.

Christopher Bernard Wilder was born in Sydney, Australia on the 13th of March 1945. His father was an American naval officer and his mother was an Australian national. From the get-go, Christopher had problems. He battled a lot of illnesses as a child and at one point a priest had to be called in because they thought he wasn't going to make it. As well as bad health, he seemed to be plagued with bad luck and almost drowned in a swimming pool. On another occasion when he was just 3 years old he was in his parents car and began having fits to the point of having to be resuscitated.

It was a wonder how he made it past his childhood with the amount of near deaths that he had. One can imagine that it must have been traumatic not just for him but for his parents. Little did anyone know that this sickly boy would grow up to become an evil monster. You would think that his problems with illness in his childhood would make Christopher grow up with a more appreciation of life but instead he enjoyed taking it and causing as much pain and suffering to others as he possibly could.

The red flags of what was to come later on started at the age of 17. Christopher was part of a sickening gang rape that took part on a beach. Instead of proper punishment, they gave him a year's probation and recommended that he have counselling along with Electroconvulsive Therapy

Some would argue that the Electroconvulsive Therapy could have been the cause of what he became but I would say that I disagree, as he'd already taken part in a very serious sexual assault beforehand.

The therapy did nothing for him.

Fast forward to the age of 23 and roots of evil were getting deeper and deeper. Christopher got married but it wasn't to last, he abused his wife and when she found a stash of pictures of nude women and a pair of panties that didn't belong to her, she left him.

The stash of nude pictures were found in a briefcase in his car and this was him in his early 20s. Who were the women in the pictures? Was he carrying out his sickening crimes back then?

In 1969 he threatened a student nurse that he would humiliate her by showing her nude pictures publicly. Going by my research into Christopher it sounds like he used his tactic of pretending to be a photographer and managed to persuade this woman to have nude photographs taken in exchange for either money or a modelling contract. It is possible that he tried to blackmail her into having sex with him and she refused. Whatever the case, the lady went to the police but the charges were soon dropped after she didn't feel comfortable having to testify against him in court.

It wasn't long after this that Christopher ran off to America. A lot has been said about this, that he attacked and possibly murdered a number of women in his homeland of Australia and decided to make a swift exit before the cops were hot on his tail.

Once he was in America he settled in Southern Florida and did pretty well for himself financially because of his construction and electrical contracting work. Christopher began living the high life with expensive cars, parties at his luxurious home and even had a photographic studio in his house to carry on with his creepy obsession.

It seemed that no matter how much money Christopher had and the lovely lifestyle, the sickness within him was too deep and he just could not help himself. He was soon back on the prowl again.

In 1971, Christopher was in hot water again for about 5 minutes as per usual, nothing was done. He'd been walking up to pretty young girls again using his usual routine of being a photographer who could help them get onto the cover of magazines. All he got was a slap on the wrist and a small fine. Christopher was soon free to continue on with his sickening ways.

In 1980 he tricked a young teenage girl into his car and drove her to a rural area where he subjected her to a horrific sexual assault. The poor girl managed to escape and the police were informed. Again, Christopher managed to get away with it and got 5 years probation and more useless therapy.

Having his little brush with the law must have made Christopher feel that he had to lay low for a little bit so he went to Australia to visit his parents but he just couldn't help himself and abducted two girls from a beach. He was charged with kidnap and sexual assault. His parents bailed him out and he was sent packing back to America.

He was supposed to attend a court appearance in May of 1983 but delays meant that the date was changed to the 3rd of April 1984, an appearance he would never make.

From February 1984 to April 1984, Christopher would go on a rampage (some believe he first started killing in 1962) from state to state, abducting girls, sexually assaulting, torturing and killing them. One of the victims was his ex girlfriend who had also been a beauty queen, her name was Elizabeth Kenyon.

Soon the police were keeping watch with so many reports of a bearded man posing as a photographer and approaching women at the beaches and shopping malls trying to get them to go with him.

Christopher celebrated his 39th birthday with a brand new car which was a 1973 Chrysler.

Soon the newspapers were reporting that the police were looking for a man fitting his description plus the same make of car and he panicked. he told his business partner that under no circumstances would he ever go to jail. Christopher was terrified of being put in prison and soon fled.

Being on the run from the police didn't stop him carrying out more crimes. On the 19th of March 1984 he abducted a 21 year old girl by the name of Terry Ferguson from a shopping mall. The police found the poor girl's body four days later in a canal.

The very next day he kidnapped a university student in Tallahassee and drove for miles until finally stopping at a cheap motel where he proceeded to sexually assault her repeatedly. As well as carrying out these sickening acts, he super glued her eyes and gave her electric shocks. By some miracle the girl was able to get herself into the bathroom, lock the door, scream and bang on the walls in an attempt to alert other people at the motel. Being the coward that he was, Christopher soon jumped in his car and sped off.

He soon ended up in Texas and his next target was Suzanne Logan, she had vanished from a shopping mall and was found days later on the 26th of March, the same day the body of 24 year old Terry Walden was found. Terry had actually mentioned to her husband a few days before that there was a creepy guy telling her how beautiful she was outside one of her classes and how he thought she could be a model. Her husband thought nothing of it until Terry suddenly vanished. Both women had been sexually assaulted, tortured and stabbed to death.

His thirst for murder, rape and torture was still not up, he continued to Colorado where he abducted and murdered Sheryl Bonaventura on the 29th of March. Witnesses had said that they saw a man fitting Christopher's description in a restaurant in the mall. He was also seen talking to young girls about modelling shoots.

On the 17th of April he abducted a young aspiring model, Michelle Korfman from a fashion show at a shopping mall in Las Vegas. Her body was later found in June and had to be identified using her dental records.

The police were desperate to find this monster and the FBI put Christopher on their Most Wanted List on the 3rd of April 1984.

On the 4th of April, Christopher abducted a 16 year old girl, Tina Marie Risico. Once he had taken her back to a motel room and repeatedly raped her, he decided not to kill her but to keep her alive. He believed that she could help him find more victims. Christopher took the terrified teenager on the road with him going from state to state. The poor child did whatever he asked out of fear of being killed.

On the 10th of April, Tina helped Christopher abduct a 16 year old girl from a shopping mall in Indiana. The poor girl was raped repeatedly by Christopher as Tina was instructed to keep driving the car. Eventually he told Tina to drive to a wooded area, once there, took the young girl who was called Dawnette Wilt, out of the car and tried to suffocate and stab her to death. Thinking she was dead, he got back in the car with Tina and they drove off. Luckily, Dawnette was still alive and managed to tie her jeans around herself to help stop some of the bleeding and was able to find help.

Dawnette was able to get the life saving surgery she needed and was able to make a full recovery physically but one must wonder of what terrible scars that must leave on a person psychologically, to have been through something so horrendous and terrifying.

Christopher's final victim was a 33 year old woman called Beth Dodge who he shot and dumped in a gravel pit before he and Tina drove to Logan Airport in Boston. Surprisingly, he bought Tina a ticket and told her that she could leave and get on the plane.

He made an attempt at abducting a woman at gunpoint in Massachusetts but she was able to get away.

On the 13th of April 1984 Christopher stopped at a gas station where he was recognised by two police officers. When the police attempted to arrest him, a struggle ensued with two gun shots being fired. Christopher Wilder was pronounced dead at the scene, his sickening and evil spree was now over.

Much has been said about how many victims Christopher Wilder is responsible for exactly. He has been linked to so many unsolved murders and disappearances especially the Tammi Leppert case. Tammi was a teenage model and actress who mysteriously vanished on the 6th of July 1983. The police don't seem to think there is a link to Christopher Wilder. Originally her family thought he was responsible and tried to sue his estate but soon dropped the case as there were doubts at his guilt in relation to Tammi.

It is both infuriating and heartbreaking that this evil man was able to carry on abducting, sexually assaulting, torturing and murdering these innocent women for so long. It angers me that he never got to face justice or tell the families where his victims were buried and it seemed that all through his life he managed to get away with whatever pain he caused to other people. Him dying whilst at the point of being caught and stopped was just another example of him getting away with it.

I think about the young women he murdered, the ones who lived to tell the tale and their families, I can't imagine what they all must feel.

RIP to the victims that we know about and the ones that we don't. I pray for strength for their families and for those who managed to survive.

What Happened To Blessing Olusegun? | Justice For Blessing

It's been a tense couple of weeks for the UK with the heartbreaking news that a young woman by the name of Sarah Everard was abducted off of the street and murdered by a serving policeman. I think everyone is in shock and disbelief especially as we found out that this man, Wayne Couzens had indecently exposed himself at a McDonald's restaurant just days before he kidnapped Sarah.

We are all just trying to get our heads around the fact that this pervert was allowed to go straight back to work as a police officer, an individual who is supposed to be protecting members of the public, not harming them.

Like so many people, I watched in horror at the footage of the police manhandling women at Sarah Everard's vigil.

The vigil (before the police came) was a beautiful, peaceful tribute to remember Sarah and other women who had been victims of violence including the beautiful girl in the picture above, Blessing Olusegun.

It was because of these brave women at the vigil that I came to know Blessing's name. I did some research into Blessing's case and decided to put a little video together.

The Kidnap & Murder of Sarah Everard | Solved

[As you are probably aware, unfortunately this case has taken a heartbreaking turn. I originally posted about Sarah's story earlier in the week in the hopes that someone would maybe be able to help with some information as I know I have a lot of followers who live in London. I have been posting updates here at the end of my post and continue to follow the case. I will continue to regularly update this post whenever a piece of new information becomes available concerning the suspect, Wayne Couzens. Thank you to everyone who shared my post and the information poster, obviously we are all heartbroken about what has happened and it has raised a lot of serious issues concerning the safety of women on our streets and obviously the shocking revelation that the suspect is indeed a serving police officer, you can understand the anxiety and questions this has raised. This beautiful, talented woman was taken from her family and it's important that her murderer is brought to justice. As mentioned before, I will keep this post regularly updated]

Please be aware that some of the details shared in this post may be disturbing.

It's been almost a week since the beautiful 33 year old Sarah Everard left her friend's house in Clapham, London to walk home to where she lived in Brixton. However, Sarah never got home and hasn't been seen since. Her boyfriend, family and friends are worried sick and together with the police they are trying to find out where Sarah is and hopefully get her back home safely where she belongs.

Nearby areas, ponds, drains are being thoroughly searched by investigation teams and sniffer dogs but so far there has been no clue as to where Sarah is or what happened to her.

Sarah is a marketing manager in a happy long term relationship with her boyfriend and is very close with her family and friends, for her just to disappear like this is completely out of character.

After spending time with her friend on Wednesday the 3rd of March 2021, Sarah decided to walk home. The time was 9pm and police estimate that it would take her at least 50 minutes to get home. It's unclear why she decided to walk home, maybe she wanted to stop off at a shop or something?

The police believe that she had walked across Clapham Common towards where she lived in Brixton and the last known footage of her movements was spotted on CCTV in an area called Poynders Road. After that, there is no further sighting.

The area where Sarah is said to have vanished is known to have had previous incidences where women have been attacked. Since Sarah was reported missing the police have had reports from other women to say that they have been attacked or followed in that area.

Her family have tried to call her but say that her phone is not ringing.

At the time of writing, the police have sealed off apartments in the area as they continue their search. I will update this blog when any new information is available. I pray that she is found safe and well. Please keep Sarah in your prayers and if there's anyone out there who knows any information, no matter how small, please get in touch with the police asap.

Sarah is 5ft 4in with blonde hair and is of slim build. She was wearing a green waterproof rain jacket, navy blue trousers with a white diamond design & green trainers (I don't know why the information on the poster says white trainers, you can see from the picture above that the trainers are green). She also had a white or nude pink beanie hat and face mask on, She also had a set of earphones and her phone with her.

The police are appealing for anyone who may have CCTV footage in the following areas:

- The A205 South Circular around Clapham Common.

- Cavendish Road

- New Park Road

- Brixton Hill

- Brixton Water Lane

9th of March 2021: A police officer has been arrested in connection with Sarah's disappearance. A woman at the same address as this man has also been arrested & charged with assisting an offender!

10th of March 2021: The police officer and the woman who is being charged with assisting him are still in police custody. The police officer was not on duty at the time of Sarah's disappearance. The police are now searching a disused paintball facility as well as woodland in an area of Kent which is 1 hour and 14 minutes from where Sarah was last seen. A car has also been taken away by the forensic team.

It has been confirmed that the woman arrested alongside the police officer is his wife.

The serving police officer who has been arrested (along with his wife) in connection to Sarah's disappearance is being named in the press as 48 year old father of two, Wayne Couzens.

The police have confirmed that Wayne Couzens is being held in suspicion of kidnap, murder and indecent exposure.

The police reported on the late evening of Wednesday 10th of March 2021 that during their search of woodlands in Kent, that sadly some human remains were found.

11th of March 2021: Wayne Couzens is taken to hospital after an incident at the police station where he sustained a head injury. He was found unconscious in his cell. No further details were released on how he obtained the injury. He was quickly released from the hospital and returned to custody for further questioning.

12th of March 2021: The police sadly announced the confirmation that the human remains were that of Sarah Everard. Wayne Couzens remains in police custody.

On the evening of Friday the 12th of March 2021, Wayne Couzens was officially charged with the kidnap and murder of Sarah Everard.

A police watchdog is investigating the 'indecent exposure' incident involving Wayne Couzens just three days before Sarah went missing. Wayne had apparently exposed himself in a McDonald's restaurant.

Wayne Couzens had only been in the police force for 3 years, before that he worked in his family garage business. He was also said to have been on duty up until 90 minutes before he kidnapped Sarah.

13th of March 2021: Wayne Couzens appeared in court to confirm his name, address, date of birth etc. He was taken back into custody and is to appear at the Old Bailey on Tuesday the 16th of March. His wife has been released on bail.

It was also revealed in court (on the 13th of March) that Sarah's remains were found in a large builder's bag and she had to be identified by her dental records.

Wayne Couzens was taken to hospital again on Friday for another head injury but was quickly returned back into custody.

Sarah's phone has still not been found. The last person she spoke to on the phone before she was kidnapped by Wayne Couzens, was her boyfriend.

A public vigil for Sarah had been cancelled due to the Covid pandemic but organisers announced on Sky News that they were planning an online vigil for Sarah. At 9:30pm on the 13th of March, people were asked to light a candle and stand at their doorsteps in tribute to Sarah and many other women who had fallen victim to acts of violence.

On the afternoon (and into the evening) of Saturday the 13th of March, despite the announcement that the public vigil had been cancelled, quite a number of women still went to Clapham to lay flowers and pay their respects. It was a peaceful event with even Kate Middleton in attendance at one point. As night dawned the police arrived and started to arrest the women who were just paying tribute to Sarah & other victims of violence, this sparked a riot with the police behaving in a hard handed manner. Many people recorded the scene and posted videos online. An investigation into how the police handled this situation is under investigation.

14th of March 2021: The very next day after the vigil, thousands of people gathered outside the Metropolitan Police's headquarters in London to protest at the police's conduct during the vigil. There have been calls by some of the public for the London Met Police commissioner, Cressida Dick to resign but she has no plans to do so.

15th of March 2021: The police are currently searching an area of Kent known as Sandwich. A post-mortem examination on Sarah has already been carried out but cause of death has still not been released to the public.

Wayne Couzen's wife Elena who is currently on bail until April is reportedly 'living in fear' because of social media trolls. Elena was arrested alongside her husband and was charged with assisting an offender. Her mother (who considers Wayne to be a son and not a son-in-law) appears to be standing by Wayne and thinks that he's innocent. Its unknown what Elena and her mother think of the fact that Wayne indecently exposed himself in McDonald's just days before he kidnapped Sarah. The Wayne that they know is obviously different to the person that he really is but you can't really continue to be in denial when the evidence and facts are there, this man was a predator and clearly living a double life.

15th of March 2021 Continued: On Monday evening it was reported by Sky News that a Metropolitan police officer who was involved in the search for Sarah has been transferred from his role to another department in the force due to sharing a confidential graphic on Friday. This officer has now been placed in a non-public facing role whilst an investigation into his conduct takes place.

The police are still continuing to search the Sandwich area of Kent with focus also on a supermarket car park and a river in the town.

16th of March 2021: Wayne Couzens appeared via video-link at the Old Bailey in London from Belmarsh Prison to confirm his name and address (he had a cut above his left eye and on the top of his head and swayed from side to side with his head down throughout the 27 minute hearing according to The Telegraph).

He has a scheduled plea hearing on the 9th of July and a provisional trial date set for the 25th of October.

The police are continuing to search areas around Sandwich in Kent. A gold necklace was found in the supermarket car park that I mentioned earlier. The police have placed the item into evidence for more investigation, they have not confirmed yet if the necklace is connected to Sarah.

17th of March 2021: A second post-mortem was carried out on Sarah's remains on the afternoon of the 17th of March. The result was also inconclusive. The police are continuing to search areas of Kent.

The Daily Mail reported that Wayne Couzens will be receiving his 'full Met Police salary of at least £33,000 during criminal proceedings'

18th of March 2021: An inquest into Sarah's death was held today, her family attended via video-link. A coroner has allowed Sarah's remains to be given to her family so that they can prepare a funeral for her. The inquest was quickly adjourned pending the outcome of the criminal proceedings.

20th of March 2021: The Daily Mail reported on the 20th of March that CCTV cameras have been set up outside of Wayne Couzens home due to fear of vigilante attacks. His wife, who is still on bail, is said to have returned to the property with their two children.

26th of April 2021: According to the police, forensic investigators are still no clearer (more than six weeks after she disappeared ) on how exactly Sarah died.

1st of June 2021: The Metropolitan Police confirmed that an autopsy revealed that Sarah Everard's cause of death was said to have been from strangulation.

8th of June 2021: Wayne Couzens has confessed to the rape and kidnapping of Sarah Everard. He has not yet confessed to her murder. His next hearing is due to go ahead next month.

9th of July 2021: Wayne Couzens appeared in court and confessed to the rape, kidnapping and murder of Sarah Everard. He is due to be sentenced at the Old Bailey on the 29th of September. Wayne Couzens had abducted Sarah in a hire car and on CCTV the pair were seen stood on the pavement talking on the night that Sarah vanished. The Guardian newspaper also reported that Wayne had been previously accused of indecent exposure back in 2015, an investigation into this is ongoing.

29th of September 2021: Wayne Couzens is due to return to the Old Bailey to be sentenced for the kidnapping, rape & murder of Sarah Everard. It was also revealed that on the night of Sarah's abduction, Wayne had actually stopped Sarah and 'arrested' her in the pretence that she was going against Covid Lockdown rules. Wayne Couzens would often take his police badge and handcuffs home with him and it is believe that this was how he was able to get Sarah into his car. Sarah was described by loved ones and fellow colleagues as 'very intelligent' and she would not have gotten into that car without force.

During the first day of sentencing hearing, the court heard some harrowing details of how Wayne Couzens kidnapped Sarah and drove away with her. Sarah's blood was found in the front seat, backseats and boot of his car, there was also evidence that he had sexually assaulted Sarah in the car. The court also heard how he had strangled Sarah with his belt and disposed of her body by setting fire to her remains in an old refrigerator.

The court heard emotional impact statements from Sarah's family and it was announced that the court would reconvene the following day where Wayne Couzens would learn of his sentence.

30th of September 2021: The day Wayne Couzens is sentenced for the kidnap, rape and murder of Sarah Everard. More details were revealed that Wayne had taken his family to the same site for a picnic where he had dumped Sarah's remains just days before. The murder was also pre-planned, Wayne was looking for a potential victim and had an obsession with violent sex. As the Judge came to his conclusion and decision on Wayne's fate he said the horrific and sad but true words that Sarah Everard was ''Raped and strangled to death''. Wayne Couzens had been planning to rape and murder a potential victim for a month, he drove around London seeking the opportunity to do so.

Wayne Couzens did the best that he could to lie, manipulate police and cover up his horrendous crime, he even told investigators that an unknown gang were after him and his family so he had to quickly find girls for this gang. He said that he picked up Sarah but the gang took her away. After he murdered Sarah, Wayne calmly and collectively went to a coffee shop and ordered a drink and a pastry. He acted like everything was normal. His family were unaware of what had taken place. It's unknown if there was a history of violence towards his wife but we know he had indecently exposed himself before to members of the public.

Wayne Couzens has never offered any explanation as to why he did what he did. He is without care and self focused and his actions before, during and after Sarah's murder show what a cold hearted and sadistic individual he truly is.

Wayne Couzens was sentenced to a full life term meaning that he will die in prison. I just want to give a shoutout to The Telegraph for the exceptional coverage of this 2 day sentencing.

Wednesday 27th of October 2021. Wayne Couzens has put in an appeal to have his sentence reduced. Wayne was sentenced to a full life order in September of this year.

Friday 18th of March 2022: The press announced that Wayne Couzens has been charged with 4 counts of Indecent exposure from incidents that took place in January and February 2021, just weeks before the abduction, rape and murder of Sarah Everard. Public outrage has understandably remained in this case all the way through and this news will add further disgust as the fact that Wayne was able continue to not only remain as part of the police force but that he wasn't closely monitored.

I'm thinking of Sarah, her family and all women who have lost their lives at the hands of evil men. I'm also thinking of the women who are currently going through a difficult situation and the brave survivors who speak out and try to support other victims of violence.
