The Playboy Bunny Curse? | Murder, Suicide & Tragedy | Part Three

Continued from part two...

Please be aware that some of the details shared in this post will be quite disturbing.

This case was like something out of a horror movie, the details are horrible. Ryan Jenkins was obsessed with becoming famous and had actually appeared on a reality TV show in order to make some kind of name for himself but it didn't really have the affect that he planned.

He ended up in a relationship with Jasmine, a pretty blonde with big blue eyes who'd been working for Playboy for a year and had also done other modelling shoots.

The pair ended up getting married and they both liked to give off the image that they were living a luxurious lifestyle. The marriage seemed to be fueld with insecurities and a major importance was put on money. Things turned sour very quickly after their marriage and it's unclear what happened between them (some believe that she was going to leave Ryan because he didn't have much money and that she'd been in contact with an ex partner) but Ryan murdered his 23 year old wife and then made the gruesome task or removing her teeth and finger tips before he stuffed her body in a suitcase.

He then took his own life. He was 32 years old.

Jasmine had to be identified by the serial number on one of her breast implants.

The Iconic and beautiful Jayne Mansfield who was said to have been Marilyn Monroe's arch rival in the Golden era of Hollywood back in the 50s and 60s was famous for her ''wardrobe malfunctions'' where her blouse would ''accidentally'' fall down to reveal her ample bosom (who could forget that famous picture of Jayne and Sophia Loren).

Jayne was one of the early Playboy Playmates and was multi talented. She was married three times and had 5 children all before the age of 34.

Sadly at the age of 34 she died in a car crash in June of 1967, her boyfriend and driver also died in the crash.

Yvette Vickers who a lot of people remember as the iconic Honey Parker in Attack Of The 50 Foot Woman as well as an early Playboy model and singer had a glittering career and lived right up to the age of 80.

Her death caused headlines in April of 2011 when her mummified body was found in her home after her neighbour had become concerned. Her body had been laid in the house for a year before being discovered. There were no signs of anything suspicious, Yvette simply passed away at the age of 80 due to heart failure.

In another tragic story, Linda's life was quite the rollercoaster having been pushed into the spotlight overnight with the success of the pornographic movie ''Deep Throat''. She was seen as the girl next door, natural beauty with a bubbly personality but behind the pretty smile lay a frightened girl who was just trying to survive.

Linda had been abused growing up and then her boyfriend forced her into a porn career. She had been sexually assaulted and forced to do things she didn't want to do or face the wrath of her partner. Linda spent a lot of time at the Playboy mansion and had even posed for Playboy.

She also made the famous claim that Hugh Hefner tried to get her to have intercourse with his Dogs and spoke quite frankly about the goings on at the Playboy mansion.

Linda evetually stood up against the porn industry and tried to turn her life around but it seemed that no matter what she did, she couldn't catch a break. Back in those days there was a stigma attached to anyone who had worked in the porn industry.

Linda had been diagnosed with hepatitis resulting from a blood transfusion she been given after a car accident. She also underwent a liver transplant.

Linda sadly died at the age of 53 on the 22nd of April 2002 after being on life support. She had been involved in another car accident that had left her with severe trauma and internal injuries. Her husband and children were with her when she died.

Going through each of these cases has been quite emotional, especially in the cases where the girls have died young due to a horrific murder or terrible tragedy. Each one of these women is an Icon and remembered by those who loved them and Playboy was just a tiny part of their lives, they achieved so much more whilst they were amongst us.

I hope that by briefly sharing their stories that you remember them for the beautiful people they were and even if you've just discovered them, hopefully you will go on to learn more about them. Each one of these women have touched my heart this week as I've been researching and putting these posts together. I hope that you have found these posts informative and I thank you as always for taking the time to read my work.

RIP Ashley, Stephanie, Vincent, Eve, Jasmine, Jayne, Christina, Dorothy, Cassandra, Yvette and Linda.

Also, RIP to Hugh Hefner, no matter what you may have heard about him or what I have read about him (especially in Linda Lovelace's book), the man is not here to defend himself and although I know that Linda had been though a lot of trauma at the hands of her boyfriend as well as other men in the Entertainment Industry, nobody knows for sure if some of the things she said about Hugh were just for shock factor to sell the book.

I have read a lot about Playboy and from former Playboy bunnies who claim there was a horrible darkside to it all and I'm the sort of person who likes to see facts and evidence before I make a decision. I'm not saying that these people are lying but you do have to take into consideration that some people may be salty if they have been fired or if they didn't make the cut. I do believe that a lot of dark things did happen but will we ever know the truth?.

I also want to say that I don't believe that Playboy was in any way responsible for their deaths. I just found a link with all of the women in my posts. Posing for Playboy was always believed to have been the ultimate goal and to see people who had so much success end up coming to a sad or horrific end is heartbreaking, just goes to show you never know what's around the corner.
